Apply for measures at sea

Bergen Port operates within the framework of the Port and Waterways Act.

If you are planning to build a quay or pier, carry out dredging, or do other work in the sea, you must apply to Bergen Port for permission.

Events in the coastal zone may also require permits, such as boat and jet ski races. It can be difficult to determine what requires a permit. If you are unsure, we encourage you to contact us.

The standard processing time is four weeks. To process an application, a completed application form, map excerpt, and confirmation from the municipal planning and building department stating that the project is in compliance with the plan are required.
